tub and clothes line with new batik

The long low lonely sound of the train resounded through the morning mist. The train whistled through the distant hills as it headed north to Montreal.
My eyes were just adjusting to the cool morning air I love so much this time of year. What a sharp contrast to the scorching heat to come. All about was beauty in my yard and the distant fields and mountains. Close by are flowers; lilies and cone-flowers, the long red blossoms of the giant trumpet vine that hummingbirds love so much. My little potted garden looked pretty as well, the peppers and tomatoes beginning to bear their fruit………Oh no! Another little tomato bitten by the clever chipmunks! Ah well..
My studio upstairs is hot and stuffy but filled with projects unfinished. Such chaos! My bottles of dye for painting on fabric are open and brushes are everywhere. The window with the fan has a small clothesline in front of it with lots of small batik drying in it’s breeze. the clothes rack on the side of the room has many partly waxed batik and there are several bags with fabric lightly sketched with my designs just waiting for the wax and dyes.
Outdoors my buckets are ready to dye and rinse several more batik. and my small fence serves as a clothesline for yesterdays batik. It is time to get to work.
